Yep. We’ve all done it. Made New Year’s resolutions, only to break them. This year, however, I’m determined not to do that.
Here’s the thing: I really want to get more regular with my blog (one of last year’s resolutions that I broke) AND I want to get my novel to a point where it is ready to go to a publisher or I can publish it myself.
Why do I have trouble doing both of these things? I’ve decided that one of my problems is that I want to do the blog first so I can just get stuck into my novel without distraction. The problem is that I need to do so much research for my blogs that I put off doing them – which means that I don’t get to my novel.
I’m not a knowledgeable enough writer to give advice to people about things without research. I’m not knowledgeable enough about even my favourite periods of history to do that either. What I do know about is being a struggling writer, trying to find my way through the minefield of writing well and with confidence to a point where my first novel can be published.
So – that is what I will be writing about a lot. The process of getting through my novel, and other writing projects. Things I discover along the way. As well as some interesting bits and pieces I come across.
Come along on the journey with me. Share your journey as well. We can get through this together.
Bring on 2019!
Cheers
Kerry
