Passive voice: is it really the demon it is made out to be?

I’ll confess: I use passive voice. Probably more than I should. And then I go back and change it. I don’t use it all the time, but it certainly has it’s place.

Great article here from an expert editor, Cayce Berryman:

When and how to avoid passive voice

At the end of the day, it is a tool in a writers toolbox. Use it where it is appropriate. the trick is to know where it is appropriate. And, call we weird, but I don’t mind it as a reader too – as long as it isn’t overdone.

Cheers
