At the risk of quoting Britney Spears – yep, I did it again!
I was all set to go with NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) entry: had renamed Better Shoes T’ Walk In to Sunset to Sunrise, had designed a book cover and it was all uploaded to the NaNoWriMo site. I was ready! Just needed to make sure what I had done was completed enough that I could write at least 50,000 new words for it.
And, as I went back over the work I had already done and started to add to another chapter – I realised that there was no way I could know what research I needed to have done for the start of November without the story being written. I often don’t know that I need to look for something until I get up to that bit.
What to do, what to do. Then it dawned on me. I have really enjoyed the short story writing for the Authors’ Tale anthology Heart of a Child. Why not put my own anthology together? I could write short stories from as early as I wanted to. I could even, after the event is all over, add a few more.
So – announcing the new NaNoWriMo project – the anthology Stories of then.
Now to work out what stories I want to write – and do the necessary research, before the start of November!
Cheers

What a cool idea! I wish you luck on it. I’m a fan of short stories too. May I ask what genre is your favorite to write in?

Thanks skylerboudreau! Historical fiction is definitely my favourite to write in, although I may venture into fantasy at some point.
