Support in solitude

Writing is a solitary activity, right? Well – it is. But that doesn’t mean that you have to do it in cultural isolation …..

I have tried a couple of different groups that actually meet to discuss writing etc. but they haven’t really suited me. I wish they had and I will continue to keep my eye open for one. It is a great thing to converse with, and listen to, other likeminded people.

I am a member of a few Facebook writing groups. But I do have a favourite: Author’s Tale. What a supportive and collegial group it is! So many budding and proven authors all in one place sharing experiences, offering advice, and generally supporting other authors. I don’t think I have ever seen a negative post on there.

So do yourself a favour and find a group of writers, whether they be on land or online. When you find the right group, you will find that you will feel yourself developing as a writer and actually see yourself as one.

Cheers
